HVAC Installation Subcontractors – 10 Openings
AutoHVAC is building a roster of up to 10 qualified independent HVAC installation subcontractors for residential and light-commercial projects across the GTA. Assignments and scope will match each contractor’s verified trade, fuel, refrigerant and safety authorizations. This is subcontract work, not guaranteed employment or guaranteed hours.
Responsibilities
- Install HVAC equipment and related components only within the contractor’s verified legal scope, qualifications and assigned work order
- Review the approved scope, site conditions, equipment specifications and installation requirements before starting work
- Follow manufacturer instructions, applicable codes, permits, safety requirements and AutoHVAC quality-control procedures
- Coordinate arrival, site access and work progress professionally with customers, AutoHVAC staff and other authorized trades
- Protect customer property and maintain an orderly, safe and clean work area
- Complete required start-up, testing, commissioning and installation documentation within the holder’s authorized scope
- Record model and serial numbers, measurements, photographs, deficiencies, material usage and completion details accurately
- Report unsafe conditions, scope conflicts, damaged equipment, missing materials, licensing concerns or changes before continuing
- Do not perform gas, refrigeration, electrical or other compulsory-trade work outside the individual’s current authorization
- Maintain all required tools, calibrated instruments, personal protective equipment, vehicle and business documentation
- Support inspections, deficiency correction and warranty follow-up related to the subcontractor’s completed work
- Preserve customer confidentiality and communicate respectfully without making unauthorized pricing, warranty or project commitments
- Provide invoices, timesheets and supporting project records promptly and accurately
- Keep certificates, insurance, WSIB status and contact information current throughout the relationship
Requirements
- Current authorization appropriate to every assigned task; AutoHVAC will verify credentials and public-register status before dispatch
- For refrigeration and air-conditioning work: valid Ontario 313A Certificate of Qualification, 313D Certificate of Qualification within its residential scope, or a valid Registered Training Agreement/Provisional Certificate where the work and supervision arrangement are legally permitted
- For handling regulated refrigerants: current Ontario Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) certificate
- For unsupervised gas-appliance work: current TSSA gas certificate appropriate to the equipment and input; G2 is normally the minimum for unsupervised residential gas-appliance work, while G3 work is limited to its lawful supervised scope
- Where the subcontractor contracts for fuel work, all applicable TSSA fuels-contractor registration requirements must also be satisfied
- Current WSIB registration and valid clearance certificate before construction work begins and throughout each assignment, unless a documented legal exemption or WSIB ruling applies and AutoHVAC accepts it
- Commercial general liability insurance appropriate to HVAC installation work; proof of coverage required before dispatch
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence, reliable work vehicle and ability to travel throughout the GTA
- Own appropriate tools, safety equipment and communication device for accepted assignments
- Demonstrated HVAC installation experience and strong knowledge of safe work practices, codes and manufacturer requirements
- At least two verifiable professional references from established companies or clients for relevant trade or HVAC installation work
- Ability to provide copies of certificates, registrations, insurance, WSIB documentation and identification for verification
- Professional customer service, punctuality, accurate documentation and dependable follow-through
- Legally entitled to perform the contracted work in Ontario
- Additional current credentials such as 313A Red Seal, G1, advanced controls, heat-pump, sheet-metal or manufacturer training are preferred and may support higher-rate or specialized assignments
